About Me
My name is Wally Dennis and I currently live in Marietta, GA. I am married and have 2 teenage sons who are both heavily involved in sports. Sadly neither of them is even remotely interested in golf. I am, however, an avid golfer and enjoy traveling and playing new and exciting golf courses.
One of the things I enjoy most about golf, especially when traveling, is meeting new and interesting people. Since no one else in my family plays, I often show up as a single and get randomly paired with 1 or more strangers. In the almost 40 years that I have been playing golf, there have only been a very small handful of instances that I was paired with someone with whom I could not find common interests. In most cases, I genuinely enjoy getting to know my playing partners – well, at least as much as you can get to know someone in 4-ish hours.
I believe that one of the secrets to being a good playing partner on the golf course is to not take yourself or the game too seriously. Even more importantly, practice proper golf etiquette and never give anyone a reason to think that you are a slow player. As the saying goes, “Even if you’re playing bad, make sure that you play bad fast.”
