Next up was Royal Birkdale Golf Club which is scheduled to hold The Open Championship for the 11th time in 2026. It has also hosted the Women’s Open, The Ryder Cup, The Walker Cup, and The Curtis Cup. Needless to say, it is a historic course and one that I had really been looking forward to playing. Unfortunately, I did not play well and due to my frustration did not take a lot of pictures.

Final thoughts: Of the 3 Open Rota courses we played on this trip, Royal Birkdale without question deserves to be ranked the highest. It is a definite must-play and hopefully you play better than I did on this day.
